Motivated TO PARTICIPATE

Playing Cricket

Newington boys are good multitaskers, they learn to juggle studies, sports, co-curricular activities and social interests and we expect them to work to their best ability at each task

One of Newington’s aims is to provide a well balanced education, in every sense of the word.

Academic work in the classroom is only one strand in a boy's development. Our boys are encouraged to fill their days and weekends with a host of activities that add to their depth of experience and create confident, capable well-rounded young men.

From the Prep Schools to the Secondary College, boys have the opportunity to involve themselves in a wide range of sports and activities.

Team sports are essential to boys lives at Newington, not simply for the great value sport provides to health and fitness but also for the opportunity it provides for each boy to make a valuable contribution to his team, to compete against himself and others and to work together for a common goal.

Other co-curricular activities on offer include chess, public speaking, debating, the John Waterhouse Society, creative arts club, Year 7 Drama, Visual Arts Clubs.

The Newington experience embraces friendship and camaraderie, not just for the boys who are students but all the family. Our community is strong and welcoming and there is a variety of social functions and support groups that mean parents and siblings are included as part of the College.

The Newington Old Boy network is extremely active and an important part of our community.
