TRAVEL
Travel PassesThe NSW Government provides subsidised travel to and from school through the School Student Transport Scheme. Managed by Transport NSW, the Scheme covers travel for eligible students on government rail, government and private bus and ferry services and long distance coaches. Booklets explaining the School Student Transport Scheme and travel pass forms are available from reception. North Shore Bus Newington College has a regular bus service between the Secondary campus and St Ives, Killara, Lindfield, Roseville and Willoughby. Hunters Hill BusThe Hunters Hill Bus is route number 560 and is scheduled by Ryde Bus Depot (telephone 9941 6850). It is a government bus which is a ‘Newington students only’ bus. Students can apply for a ‘student free travel’ pass for this bus (apply for application form at School Reception) and pay the fare until the pass is issued. Cronulla BusIn conjunction with Telfords Buses, Newington has a regular bus service between the Stanmore campuses and the southern suburbs – Cronulla, Caringbah, Miranda, Blakehurst and Hurstville. Details of the service, including timetables, are available on the application form: Eastern Suburbs BusCommencing in 2009 Newington now offers an Eastern Suburbs Bus route that picks up and sets down at the Stanmore Preparatory and the Senior School campuses. All students using the service must carry a current pass issued by the College. Application may be made for a Term Pass and/or for a 10 Ticket Pack.
