2009 REUNIONS

Old Boy reunions
Class of '79 30 year reunion

Class of '79 30 year reunion

The Class of ’79 30 year reunion was held in June 2009. Fourty-seven Old Boys attended, some of whom travelled from Hawaii, Singapore and Hong Kong to be there. The evening was such a success that it has inspired the Class of ’79 to get together again soon rather than wait for their 35 year reunion.

Year Reunions

Five-year and decade anniversary reunions are organised through the Alumni Office in conjunction with a year co-ordinator. If you wish to support planning for your reunion contact the Office. Year reunions:

  • Renew friendships among Old Boys
  • Create opportunities for networking regarding work or professional affiliations
  • Maintain effective communications between the College and the Old Boy community to facilitate electronic contact or the receipt of Old Boys' news through Newington Wyvern magazine and function invitations
  • Enable Old Boys to be informed on College developments and student achievements.

Regional Reunions

In 2009, regional and international reunions are set to take place in Armidale, Tamworth, Griffith, Dubbo, Perth, Gold Coast, Hobart, New Zealand, Singapore, Tonga and London.

The Alumni Office organises many regional and interstate reunions during the calendar year. These are generally held on a two-year cycle. They draw Old Boys of differing ages to dinners or lunch to share the common bond of being an Old Newingtonian. Reunion dates are publicised in the annual calendar of events or posted on the website.

International Reunions

Old Boys around the world enjoy meeting and networking together with functions being co-ordinated by the Alumni Office in conjunction with regional co-ordinators. Check the website for reunion dates and details. Because email contact is critical to advise Old Boys living overseas of these functions please update any changes to the Alumni Office.

Planning is underway for reunions in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York in 2010.
