ARCHIVES
Newington College has a rich documentary record of its long history. Our archives date from the day the College opened on 16 July 1863: the first admissions register records the 16 boys enrolled on that day. Other records in the Archives include minutes of Council meetings starting from 1866, architectural drawings and other records of the construction of the original building on the Stanmore campus from the 1870s, and The Newingtonian, our school magazine (now year book) which has been published since 1884. Our extensive photographic collection documents life at Newington and the changing face of the College over nearly 150 years. The Archives collection also includes a wide range of objects from Newington’s history, including uniform items and badges, sporting equipment, and items from everyday life in the College. In 2009 the College renewed its Archives program, with an emphasis on:
