The Rugby Support Group is a parent group committed to promoting rugby at Newington with the aim of allowing all boys to maximise their enjoyment of the game.

The RSG is committed to assisting with specialist coaching for all age groups, from the First XV at Stanmore to the Under 9s in the Preps, not only to develop skills but also to promote a Newington rugby culture and style, to nurture pride in rugby at the College and help grow the overall school spirit.

From fundraising events, food stalls, tours, the Dinner Dance and the hugely successful and enjoyable Jersey Lunch, the RSG provides equipment and specialist coaching for all Newington Rugby players.

Some activities of the RSG

The Jersey Lunch

This 'cultural highlight', loved by parents, Old Boys, friends and the wider rugby community, each year features a prominent rugby personality as guest speaker.

The Touch Footy Competition

A great opportunity for Old Boy rugby players to re-live the glory days and show their families that they are not just all talk. The format is a competition commencing with some coaching, a round robin tournament with various 'finals', followed by a family barbecue and picnic.

Gold Coast Inter-school Competition

The RSG sponsors our boys who make the trip up to the Gold Coast to take part in this competition.

For details of these and other events, see newsletters.
