Foundation

Established in 1974, the Newington Foundation is the organisation through which financial support for the College is directed.

Its broad objective is to anticipate and provide for the funding needs of Newington over and above what is provided by school fees and government grants. Support is given through donations and gifts directed to the College through any of the Foundation’s fundraising programs.

The Foundation administers three tax deductible funds:

  • Building
  • Library
  • Scholarships

Although totally independent from the Newington Foundation, the College has also established a tax deductible Foundation in the USA.

Together with the above three funds the Foundation also administers the Old Boys’ Union Centennial Trust and the Tom Nash Foundation.

In 2006 the College Council re-evaluated the Foundation’s Aims, Policies and Constitution of the Board to reflect the needs of the College over the next twenty years. In January 2006 the College Council appointed Mr Mark Gilbert ON ’75 Chairman of the Foundation.
