ANNUAL GIVING
Annual Giving FundThe Newington Annual Fund appeals to Old Boys, current and past parents and friends of the College for support that makes a difference in the lives of current students.ANNUAL GIVING BROCHURE 1.51MB Unlike endowed funds, which are invested and generate support for specific purposes in perpetuity, the Annual Fund plays a vital part in the thriving day-to-day operation of the College. Gifts to the Annual Fund realise a wide variety of programs including building and grounds refurbishment, student scholarships and library and computer resources. All Annual Fund gifts go directly into the operating budget to immediately fund those areas which may otherwise be delayed due to other financial pressures and obligations. 2008 gifts provided an additional $284 322 to the Scholarship Progam and restored the historic sandstone fence on Stanmore Road. These additional funds also provided further restoration on the Founders Building. Gifts to the Library Fund commenced the restoration process of some of the College's most valuable archival collection. The College will employ its first professional full-time Archivist in 2009. These projects were made possible because of the generosity of the Newington Community. It is hoped that ultimately Annual Giving will raise 10 per cent of the College’s operating budget. One hundred per cent of Annual Fund gifts are spent either in the year they were donated or the following year.
