NEWS FROM THE HEADMASTER
13 FEBRUARY 2008Prime Minister's ApologyToday in Canberra the Australian Parliament has made a formal Apology to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Only time and subsequent actions will define whether there is change and improvement in conditions for the Aboriginal people of this country. The Professional Development Council of the Australian Principals' Associations have come together to make their own joint statement. This is no small thing when you consider that the group represents the Australian Primary Principals Association, The Australian Secondary Principals Association, The Association of Heads of Independent Schools and the Catholic Secondary Principals. This combined body (APAPDC) has provided a Newsletter and Media Statement outlining the background to this matter: This week, during Assembly, the Head of each campus will speak to the boys about the Apology as part of the 'awareness raising' on this important issue.
