Student Care

Pastoral Care

Newington College is associated with the Uniting Church in Australia and is thus part of the way in which the Uniting Church expresses its concern to provide appropriate Christian experiences for boys. In particular, these experiences are provided through Religious Education classes and weekly chapel services.

Occasional services are held at the Newington College Chapel at Stanmore and opportunities are taken to develop relationships between our school and the Uniting Church community at Lindfield.

Every attempt is made to be sensitive to the backgrounds and needs of students, to encourage learning and growth and to enable development of positive attitudes to Christian faith and living.

Further information about the Chaplaincy at Newington can be found on the Chapel pages.

In each school the boys have their own active organisation, the Student Representative Council, which meet fortnightly and includes two reps from each class K-6. Issues are brought to the Council from class meetings and after discussion appropriate action is taken.
