IB Diploma ProgrammeIn addition to the NSW HSC, Newington College offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 11 and 12. 2008 is the first year the IB has been offered at Newington. The IB Diploma Programme aims to increase global awareness and intellectual rigour. The International Baccalaureate Organisation "aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organisations… to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment."
