We aim to explain patterns and processes that result from the interaction of elements from the biophysical environment

Welcome to the Geography Department

Geography is the most interdisciplinary subject, borrowing from most of the other subjects and helping to develop the individual's world view. It helps explain the arrangement of humans and their surrounding environments.

We aim to explain patterns and processes that result from the interaction of elements from the biophysical environment and from human activities. Not only do we study what they are like but also how they got like that and how they may change.

The NSW Board of Studies has recognised the centrality of geographical studies by implementing the mandatory Civics & Citizenship course that involves studies of Australian Geography.

For any enquiries, please contact the Head of Geography, Mr Shane Serhon, at s.serhon@newingtoncollege.nsw.edu.au.
