MIDDLE SCHOOL

The transition program developed in Year 7 over recent years has been continued into Years 8 and 9 under the Middle School model.

The direct link between the pastoral and curriculum needs of boys has been maintained, with boys under the direct supervision of one of their classroom teachers as their tutor. Tutor groups are thus formed on a class basis. In Year 9 we have sought to address adolescent issues and the transition to the Senior School by providing pastoral care through smaller sized mentor House groups, organised on the basis of two per House as in Year 10. Heads of Years are totally responsible for the needs of boys in each Year and will continue with their particular group through their time in the Middle School.

Each Head of Year is responsible for the transition and growth of boys in their Year and work in consultation with each tutor and mentor to achieve this aim.
