HOUSE SYSTEM

Manton House Leaders 2007

The Newington House System

In the Years 7-12 Secondary School at Newington there are eight Houses. Each House contains one eighth of the boys at the Stanmore Campus and this is the basis for a number of whole of school activities including House Competition Days. In the Senior School (Years 10-12) it is also the structure for formal Pastoral Care arrangements and the Prefect System. Students in the Middle School (Years 7-9) are organised into formal Pastoral Care groupings under the leadership of a Head of Year who moves with each Year Group over a three year cycle.

The Head of House is responsible for the welfare, progress and behaviour of boys in their House in the Senior School. They work with a team of four tutors/mentors to give highly individualised attention to the boys (typically about 65) in their House.
